It's best to speak multiple languages as each language has their own kind of limitations. A language is kind of a cage to guide your thoughts. If you are fluent in multiple languages you really notice these limitations and how switching languages makes it easier to articulate certain concepts. They do not have to be awfully profound, but they can be.

We see this when adapting foreign words into our own language, for example 'coup d'état'. This happens when the concept makes it over and we notice that we do not have adequate words to express this succinctly in our own language.

Conversely, just by not speaking that other language certain concepts cannot be thought about at all, since we do not have words for them. And not all these words make it over to our language.

If there is a word for this, I am not aware of it. Which isn't saying much, since up until a few years ago I didn't even know the word skeuomorphism. So even when you are fluent in a language, there still are words around that you might have never heard of before. But it's not as interesting as words from foreign languages, as these words you never heard of before might just not be very useful and thus not often used. But words from other languages that do not exist in your own are useful in that other language, so you might just be missing out.

Oh yeah, come to think of it there is a word in German (my first language) for English words that carried over to German: "Anglizismen". The dictionary says the English word for that is "Anglicisms". But that's just for English to other languages, not a more general word.

And also, anglicisms are words that carried over not because they did not previously exist, but because of their buzz word status. For all the anglicisms in German I can also think of a proper German word that is just not commonly used anymore.
