It's rather sad. An electric vehicle can be so much simpler than an internal-combustion engine. Far more reliable. Battery pack, controller, motor. Yet they have lots of problems.
I had a 48V golf cart submerged for five days and the vented lead acid batteries were completely unscathed. There was still air space in the batteries, the electrolyte was strong, and they read 51 volts. Unfortunately everything else was corroded and the stainless steel battery nuts had holes in them. I could feel it when my hand got close to the positive terminal. A submerged Tesla could easily kill you. Maybe you'd get electrically paralyzed and drown too. Just sitting there unable to move as the water rises. Imagine that.
