As of now, it changes nothing as it doesn't really work for the end user.

Eventually it'll let you load unapproved apps and run pirated games etc.

And you still spent $1000 for the console? This is going to come off unwelcomed, why not build a PC and have better graphics, more hard drive space and play all platforms? Its a legitimate question.

The user network. Many games keep user bases far longer on the Play Station Network then on PC. Something like 'Star Wars Battle Front 2'. You can jump on there with the PS5 and still have an online game that has a full roster of real people on the teams. Try playing that same game on PC right now with real people and you will end up waiting forever to have a full enough roster and when you do, you will start to recognize the user names because so few play it still on PC.
