I can see this as useful for an outbuilding or locked delivery room in an apartment building but letting them in your home in nuts.

I swear Amazon uses thieves to get what they want. Run a retail store, have fun getting looted over and over and over again (and then have the merchandise sold on Amazon). People robbing your packages? Let us into your house then. We've got this new walk out model for Whole Foods. Oh, but the thieves. We didn't anticipate the thieves. Time to microchip everyone.

My neighbor gave Amazon their gate code for awhile. They let their dogs escape every time, they never shut the gate when they left. They had to change the code to keep Amazon out.

This isn't new. Even five to ten years ago or so there was the possibility to give the amazon delivery guy an electronic key to your house that worked if you had a special electronic lock installed. I've seen security footage of stuff delivered that way and the delivery person looked uncomfortable. Thought it hadn't catched on because of this.

The really nice benefit of something like that is that stuff can be delivered during the night, when there isn't much traffic on the roads. But I'd prefer to not give them access to my home.

Though a garage isn't my home and depending on how it is set up the garage also doesn't give access to your home.
