As Linus is constantly reminding us, you can get a free SSD with cue-pon at Microcenter

I never had it. You'll have to look for a Linus Tech Tips video and ffwd to the advertisement portion. I get links to those a lot from various sites, and every one I've seen recently has been sponsored by Microcenter and had the ad. Or find it some other way.

Cool. I'm hoping that has overflow to hard drive because most things I build don't require SSD. But if at the consumer level everyone buys themselves a nice SSD or at the small business level, hopefully some practically free HD shows up on Ebay. Then I can hit my goal of 500TB on the cheap.

Games would boot faster and levels would load faster stored on an SSD. This is why modern consoles use them. GTA IV and Id Tech Engine 5 (Rage 1) had some issues with streaming textures and pop-in a few years back. Wouldn't surprise me if newer open world games need an SSD to perform well.

Ooh, I should buy some more! I'll always manage to find a use for some more space.

Drive space is a peculiar thing. As soon as I install a new drive, it's instantly filled to 80%, where it'll live most of it's life.

So why is a Raspberry Pi $250?

It's not a storage drive
