Newly graduated educators in NSW start their first year of teaching with a salary of $73,737 and can earn over $117,000 for lead teacher duties.
Under new plans, Ms Mitchell said salaries could reach up to $130,000 in a bid to keep "outstanding teachers" in the classroom.

To become an educator, you typically have to attend university and complete a Bachelor's in education.
