The issue with the priests raping kids wasn’t really just the fact they were doing it. We know the incidence of priests raping kids wasn’t really that high even at the worst of it (a lot less frequent than kids being raped by uncles iirc). The issue was that the church hierarchy knew well what was going on, but they did not report the paedo priests to the relevant authorities, they did not even defrock or reprimand the perpetrators. Instead they threatened the kids and just quietly moved the rapist priests to new parishes where their vile acts were unknown so they could rape some new kids before being moved on again to another unsuspecting parish. What the church did to kids was genuinely evil, not because there was a small percentage of paedo rapists in their ranks as no doubt there are in many professions and vocations, but because of the calculated and callous acts of the institution itself, all while their members sermonised and moralised the congregations whose own children they willingly sacrificed to the lusts of their brethren from their pulpits.

Sure, but for all the criticisms of the church, and there are many, when they were in charge single mothers’ live in boyfriends weren’t a thing. The only ones living in with single mothers then were the nuns who ran the laundries that housed the sluts. Now we’ve cast off the church and I get the privilege, nay the honour, of paying for these whores to have their own houses where they can have multiple casual boyfriends living in if they do choose. And that’s progress, because now they don’t need no man, why would they when men collectively have to provide for them by law.

There is a good short book about it called "they have uncrowned the king" or something like that. I haven't read it because i don't need a 3rd party to explain to me how it happened. But they say its a good book on the topic.

You really don't think that jews cover for rabbis, have their city council jews, and police chief shabbos goy cover for them? We would never hear about it in the papers or on tv. judges and prosecutors would never try them, etc.

I’m sure they do. Families covering for the “touchy, feely” one is commonplace too even now. But city councils, police chiefs, paki slum dwellers in the north of England etc. don’t claim a moral authority over every one else. I’m really only speaking on how the church was in Ireland, and you have to remember they ran the country here for all intents and purposes, and this scenario was only accepted by the population due to the perceived moral authority of the church. Then it emerged our moral betters included the likes of Brendan Smyth, and the higher ups valued the good image of their sacred institution far more greatly than they valued the well being of the innocent children in their charge.

People cover up for people for all manner of shit. But it’s still just not the same as what the church did, in Ireland anyway.

The police, social workers, court system, schools, etc. all covered for the child rape. These do claim moral authority, and have ability to do things the church can't. jews also claim moral authority and cover up a lot of child rape for various reasons.

That doesn't excuse the church at all, but the whole picture is that this shit is everywhere and is used for selective prosecution or public persecution.
