Picked a perfectly good 10' fiberglass aluminum ladder from the dumpster behind my job..

Always worth a look. There's a moving company next door. If you have one in your area, the dumpster is always worth checking out.

You're sure it's not cracked somewhere or has loose rivets?

We throw ours out after 4 years, the UVs from a welding arc makes the fiberglass extra brittle after a while.

I was going to say something similar. Be extra sure that it's not damaged somehow. Check it thoroughly. It is your life you're playing with after all.

Yeah, also if the fiberglass is exposed it'll tend to get into your hands or possibly clothing as you're climbing.

We picked up some metal fence posts today (~$10 at home depot now) . I am constantly picking up other's trash.
