Android piece of shit practice of constantly telling you you are running out of space.

It does this constantly on every damn Android phone I've ever owned. I just cleaned 500 MB off of a phone and it briefly told me that I had briefly got rid of the Damned running out of space icon and then 5 minutes later there's the damn running out of space icon again.

how can a freaking phone that just had 500 MB of new space cleared already have eaten up 500 MB of space.

And all these apps that are allowed to cache hundreds of megabytes of data especially Google Play and Chrome and other things are just absolutely crap.

This is absolutely the worst thing about the Android operating system. You cannot tell it to never f****** fill up your phone. You cannot tell it to always Reserve 300 MB or 500 MB of space unused so you never get the running out of space icon.

You're buying cheap phones with little/no storage, then complaining about being cheap.

Nice.

No. That's not it. They have gigabytes of storage. This happens on every freaking Android phone.

I've never had this issue. Ever.

Using Android since the HTC Dream on 1.1 in 2009.

Yep never had this issue either and i have been on android since it became a thing. Yes I HAVE filled up a phone, but uninstalling all the junk i wasnt using was the obvious solution. Currently using the bottom like android from like 5 or 6 years ago, with an SD card from my FIRST android, and its not full. Or trying to fill itself.

what matters is the percentage of storage used, performance goes to shit when around 80% full

Happened to me one time. I deleted shit; It has yet to recur.

Have you tried hitting it with a hammer?

Better wipe it with a cloth while he's at it.

Threatening my computer hard drives with a big ass magnet tends to make the hardware cooperate.

Never tried to threaten software though.

I don't have any ass magnets, so I usually just make the example of one at the range and display its twisted wreckage to serve as example to the others.

I had a similar issue. Turns out my phone had been saving photos in some weird ass directory. Had to do some digging around in memory to see what location was being used and backtracked from there.

Carefully with that low storage icon. I let it get so bad once on a macbook I accidentally tricked it into overfilling the storage and it bricked it self. Took it to Apple and two repair guys and none believed me but none had seen one like it and couldn't fix it.

Filling your storage doesn't brick your computer. You're stupid and they could see that so they screwed you.

Root it and delete all unnecessary stock apps. Or buy a sd drive and format it as phone storage.

On another note, if you're running carrier stock android and not one of the following you're a fag.

- LineageOS
- CalyxOS
- GrapheneOS
- DivestOS

This is traditionally called a PEBCAK error, as in, PROBLEM EXISTS BETWEEN CHAIR AND KEYBOARD. How can it be transliterated into a mobilefag relevant abbreviation?

I remember that from when i owned an android in 2010. The operating system is using up ALL of the memory on the phone. I was out of personal content to delete and still out of space.

[ - ] Spaceman84 0 points 2.6 yearsSep 20, 2022 14:38:41 ago (+0/-0)

It's cached files taking up space. Android and Chrome are shit tier. A Windows phone would be better than this garbage.

If any of that crap you deleted is stored in the cloud, it will come right back to you the next time your device calls home.
There are apps that will find hidden files.
