Unfortunately this perpetuates the myth that exercise is related to weight. If you want people to lose weight you lock them in a room and you give them 500 calories a day and not a bit more. And no matter what the body type and even if they sit on the couch in there and watch TV all day they're going to lose weight and they'll lose it pretty damn fast. Exercise has nothing to do with weight loss. Exercise has nothing to do with weight loss. Exercise has nothing to do with weight loss. You cannot exercise away enough calories to even make a dent in the smallest overeaters diet. And by overeater I mean somebody that eats $2,500 calories a day instead of a thousand or 1500. Exercise even running all day long does not burn enough calories to make a dent in the typical overeaters diet. Exercise does not burn a lot of calories. The human body is extremely efficient at converting calories into energy. Please stop associating exercise with weight loss. They can be fat and sit on the couch and watch TV all day but they cannot eat more than 500 calories a day.

It is the disgusting for-profit unregulated healthcare industry that the United States has that is the problem. And no it shouldn't be free and then it should be paid for by the government. It should be slashed crashed cut in half and have oversight by people ensuring that there is competition in quality of care instead of letting the doctors and the doctors lobbyists run the system from maximum profit for themselves and big pharma.
