The Slippery Slope of being a Moderate

Moderates think they are in the middle (they are not) and Moderates think "Extremists" should not be listened to. Anyone who disregards the views of anyone else is dangerous. Soon, Moderates consider more people to be "Extremists," until they (the Moderates) are the only ones they consider to be real people. This is the path to dictatorship and genocide.

I was a moderate. The insanity of the left moved me further right. I now disregard the views of the left. I’m an extremist, and I like it.

Ditto....although I called myself an 'Independent', but everything else matches. As the wacko left moved further left, I moved farther right.

I don't know if it's a self-awareness thing and the only folks I have seen describe themselves as moderates appear to fall somewhere to the left of marx.
