Consumeproduct.win - what happened to it?

they lost the domain name 'Consumeproduct.win' Apparently the person who originally purchased the name is no longer participating in the community and when the registration expired they lost it... you can still get there via communities.win/c/ConsumeProduct/ but it is clear that many posters jumped ship. The post count per day is way down.

They have posts with 2-5x engagement as here, but yes many users came back here, poal, and the various imageboard /pol/s

I don't think we ever got a clear explanation. You are right that the original register-er is not active, but they also made contact with NameCheap who had put a hold on the domain so it couldn't be used (or I think even transferred). It wasn't quite as simple as an accident. NameCheap banned it, but I don't think we ever got an explanation why.

Before it was at consumeproduct.win. Was that a separate entity from the communities.win sub https://communities.win/c/ConsumeProduct/ ?

It wasn't a separate entity. At least not immediately before they lost the domain. It had been folded into communities.win. There was a time before communities.win existed. Basically, thedonald.win was letting other reddit exile communities use their infrastructure (before thedonald.win itself was shoah'ed by a bitter Trump-jew)

Seems like the community has migrated to https://arete.network/b/ConsumeProduct/ and
https://communities.win/c/ConsumeProduct/

Maybe they were originally on the communities.win site and then created their own site on consumeproduct.win because of censorship? Dunno. But they said they were having problems with their host before they went down, and they were moving to the arete site. Ive seen familiar users on both sites.
