The drop in baby rates started after the baby boomers - who weren't even that big a boom compared to many past generations, but they seemed like it due to low infant mortality. So now that the boomers are dying off and each generation after is a little smaller, our population is gonna shrink rapidly. We are probably 5% of 0-35 year olds.
