Kiwifarms is basically old internet stuff. Not too different from old voat. Anon posters, minimal censorship, information you wont find elsewhere, and a willingness to fuck with nutjobs and tyrants.
For example remember when NZ got shot up and they tried to censor all trace of it from the entire internet?
Kiwifarms was the go to place for what was censored everywhere else. NZ demanded they take the info down and dox their own users. Kiwifarms told NZ to go fuck itself in no subtle terms.
Well there has been a very clearly premeditated and coordinated attack on the site. All the usual globohomo suspects are demanding blood. Sleeper accounts made a few months after that shooting are popping up to cause trouble too.
Supposedly this is about troons and "hate sites" which is synomous with marginally free sites. Despite screeching over things that happen on twitter every day the claim is kiwifarms is killing / endangering trannies for doing things like sharing information troons personally give out and expressing contempt. Of course nothing stops troons from larping as their own enemies on the site. Currently troons are doing their best to obliterate things that vex their idols and bring suffering to all who would oppose that goal. Kiwifarms is just the target of the month.
