"Surplus properties" aka huge, empty abandoned hulks no one wants lasting generations.

I'm surprised liberals haven't tacked on a demolition charge to new buildings whenever corporations want to expand. You want to build a new center in our district? Pay a charge to have it demolished or repurposed on the likely chance that it fails. Instead we now have thousands of empty buildings rotting that no one will claim as their own.

I'm the last guy to call for more regulations, but why hasn't this been done?
