The whole "x" lives matter implies somebody is saying it doesn't. So its self defeating in the way that it gets into an argument with anybody before even reading the slogan, whom we don't even know is making that assertion. Rarely would anything even think X doesn't matter, so its probably a bad assumption to even counter. It debates somebody who doesn't exist. It's dead on arrival.
The slogan was designed to enrage blacks who imagine they're under attack by phantom people who think they don't matter as much, (such as the police officer who was assaulted after Michael Brown felt threatened by his noticing that he was acting irratic.) They allowed CNN to spin a story that an innocent black boy being shot with his hands in the air, and soon burned down the convenience store which Brown stole cigars from. The story reads like witchcraft.
When they chant 'black lives matter' they're ritually projecting a counter enemy phantasmagoria.

So they go hunting for whites who believe blacks don't matter. It explains countless videos of feral blacks approaching poeple screaming the slogan. Edit: A more effective slogan would be "love sent to all races" which is one nobody would disagree or could conjure thoughts of duality.
White lives matter does trigger that conditioned response. Local police get involved, background checks get involved, parents and principles are called in, adl and splc gets involved. It's a bit alarming to witness.

Them "wide wedges" was created many decades ago; as such they are already entrenched and ingrained, to the point it would take a cult deprogrammer to undo (likely with minimal success). Also. It provokes cognitive dissonance to anyone who reads it. They are programmed that "BLACK LIVES MATTER" is okay, even if they disagree with it.
But simply saying White lives matter is considered racist. It will strike a chord with people and they will remember the group name.
