If the Earth was flat, as you've suggested, as you move from the north pole the distance between the lines of longitude increase measured at each line of latitude.
If the Earth was flat the distance between the lines of longitude would continue to increase south of the equator. However, they don't. South of the equator, what we call 0° latitude, the distance between the lines of longitude start getting shorter. As you move south of the equator, the distance is equal to the distance of the matching latitude north of the equator.
This shows, using very basic geometry, that the earth is round and symmetrical.
You can use any app on your phone or computer to determine these distances while sitting right there in your fucking room.
