On a totally unrelated note, if the file extension has "x" at the end, you can extract that archive. Yes, docx, xlsx etc are archives. Sometimes the file gets corrupted and you just want to get text out of it, so that helps.

I use librecalc often. I don't see any issues.

If you haven't come across a bug then good for you. Perhaps too many rows causes the glitching. Not sure. Not spending time to figure out.

Pages which comes with all Macs will open and edit Microsoft office documents.

You may have to save them into the native pages format after you edit them but you would at least be able to open them up.
