I've got a .50 cal HS50M1 Steyer, 5rnd capacity, and after 40 rnds, (780grn bullets powered by 233grns of H BMG50 powder) wearing only ear plugs and shooting glasses, my head is pounding .

Y'all need to do two things: wear plugs and muffs, and stop shooting that loud shit. No matter how much earpro you're using, that many rounds, after that much time, is gonna fuck up your hearing and give you tinnitus.

It's the concussion wave produced by the mass/energy disturbing the atmosphere [like a sonic boom]...it hits like a 300MPH wind, to the point where you can taste the fillings in your teeth...this concussion wave has the destructive ability to detach the retina of anyone standing within 15ft of the muzzle blast...every shot is like a boot to the side of the head...without the muzzle brake it's worse.

Ehhh, M-2 is solid. The MG-42 is the best machine gun. Still used today as the MG-3 (in 7.62 NATO) way easier to use and maintain and just better.
