If that's the case, the fact that Nixon was responsible for establishing a peace treaty and evacuating US troops from Viet Nam may well have been the reason why the CIA set up a honeytrap for Nixon to get ensnared in (Watergate) so they could then remove him from office. He had several known CIA agents either working in the White House or involved in the burglary.
1968 was the year in which the CIA established the “trustworthiness” of CBS & other news, being the first phase of Project Mockingbird, or whatever it’s phraseology.
