As of late, Archive.org seems to ask for login on almost every book I’ve been searching for. Is this something new or am I crazy? Is their a better archive alternative out there? Thanks
Not an expert but I've noticed that they have expanded their collection of works to include titles that have limits on the number of simultaneous views so they limit the number of people accessing them by getting your ID when you access these newer items. They still seem to have all the old stuff and are IMO a better place to look for older video and film than YT.

It redirects, so I presume it has an internal list of archive forks for load-balancing and/or revoking if censorship is imposed.
