Black Irish actually is a thing, but not in the way that (I think) Americans view it. It’s mostly around Galway which is a city in the west that’s been trading with the Spaniards for centuries. And you’ll find a fair few folk with people from Galway who have never had a Spaniard in their family background but mysteriously tan very well when they go on holidays!
