A long while ago I learned about "anonymous employee surveys" from what happened to a coworker. He decided to be honest on an "anonymous employee survey" and before he knew it he was called into the bosses office to explain his comments and got berated and written up. From that day on I swore never to do one ever!
As more surveys came out, I was asked by supervisors when I’m I going to do the surveys? I said never because they are not anonymous. They assured me that they were definitely anonymous! My response to that was if they are really anonymous then how do you know I haven’t taken the survey? Hmm? No response to that, lol.
My last company straight up lied to us about the anonymity of the surveys. Even when we double checked through multiple channels, the head of HR absolutely swore everything was totally anonymous.
Guess what? She fucked up later on and openly admitted the senior staff had access to who wrote what. That didn’t go over well at all.
