Boomer mentality detected

But its a-ok for alcoholics to own them...

[ - ] TheViciousMrPim 11 points 2.7 yearsAug 14, 2022 10:02:57 ago (+11/-0)

If they banned alcoholics owning firearms all the cops would be fired.

But if you smoke crack with hookers the FBI and/or the secret service will dig through dumpsters in order to retrieve your weapon.

You can still get drunk and get behind the wheel though

Ah, so that's why they've been pushing to decriminalize marijuana after a decades-long war on drugs, so voluntary substance users could be declared unfit for owning guns. If not declared so explicitly, it might at least be used as incriminating evidence to get red flag kinds of orders pushed through against individuals.

This man not only used the n-word on the internet 10 years ago, he applied for a medical use license too. Obviously a threat to national security.

You gotta be in the club to get the privleges… absolutely backwards.

The government needs another source of "sin-tax" revenue; that's behind the push for 'decriminalization'.

This is talking about the Federal government, and they don't issue MJ cards. You would have to look up how your state handles it. Now, if you are caught in possession of a firearm and marijuana you can get in trouble. But that's true whether or not you have a license for it. Same for filling out those FFL forms and lying. The Feds ask whether you use marijuana, not whether you have a license for it. Legally, I didn't see much of an overlap when I looked into it. In theory, the Federal government could use your having a license as evidence that you are a marijuana user. Most states do not share that information with the Federal government, by default, however I presume they could get a warrant for it. However, the Federal government could also use any other number of methods to establish that you are a marijuana user, including just drug testing you in custody.

IOW, I don't think that using marijuana without a license is much of a get a out of jail free card. Assuming you need one in your state, you're more likely to get in trouble for using marijuana and not having one than you are for owning a firearm whilst having a MJ card, and like I say you're most likely to get in the most trouble for having marijuana whilst possessing a firearm because there are enhancement laws for that. Card or no card, you're probably safest putting away your gun for 1s while you go buy weed.

You are spot on, but it does not lower your IQ. I will grant that it makes you stupid, but only whole you're under the influence.

NJ said it's ok for police to use weed while off the clock. So, how exactly does that shit work?

I feel like the states legalizing MJ is simply a Trojan Horse to allowing Feds to bar select (eg: Patriotic/conservative) individuals from owning guns. It's all unconstitutional of course, but they do it. My advice; don't touch the MJ.

[ - ] kammmmak 0 points 2.7 yearsAug 14, 2022 17:02:28 ago (+0/-0)

Thus why they legalize it

[ - ] Anus_Expander 0 points 2.7 yearsAug 14, 2022 17:18:16 ago (+0/-0)

Alcoholic? No problemo!

[ - ] BoraxTheFungarian 0 points 2.7 yearsAug 14, 2022 18:07:02 ago (+0/-0)

Said the gov’t which does everything in its power to impair your judgment. Oh see, now you can’t own guns because you’re impaired!

What an absolute horseshit argument. Are people with disabilities barred from baring arms?

[ - ] dassar 0 points 2.7 yearsAug 14, 2022 22:30:58 ago (+0/-0)

Of course - now you know why some States also legalized/ decriminalized medical/ private use marijuana ... default way to permanently restrict 2nd amendment gun ownership among an ever increasing numbe rof citizens.

[ - ] Bufordxl 0 points 2.7 yearsAug 15, 2022 18:34:05 ago (+0/-0)

NO, they are not 'legally' barred from having firearms. Any law made in conflict with the Bill of Rights is Not legal.
