They busted in while occupants were asleep. They confiscated $1000 and some phones. They have filed suit but I doubt it will be productive, the feds can do whatever theory want.

I don't mind defunding the police, just so long as we can also go back to the more traditional methods of handling dangers to the community the way we used to. People forget that the police are there to protect the criminal from an angry population. There are vast stretches of the US that had no police of any kind for decades and they got along just fine.
