They do steal and redistribute, but they mostly just print it out of thin air and swap the promise of your future labor to private bankers via debt, thus stealing the value of your money instead of stealing the actual money. It's both easier and more effective, and it bothers people less. Like how they figured out debt was better than chains, and people are less capable of freeing themselves from debt than chains.
