Why does it go out?

Zoom in on the sun for an hour or more during sunset - a flat earth should allow that right?

Post the hour or two long video of the sun "trying" to set. That's an easy experiment for anyone to do. Show the results if you believe.

I admit it appears you can peer over the horizon , but light bending is hardly a new phenomena.

For example, have you ever seen fiber optics? They can bend like you wouldn't believe. The density of the medium causes light to want to stay inside because the area outside of the fiber has a lower index of refraction.

Refraction happens when light passes from one homogeneous area to another; the light is bent at the interface between the two different densities or medias.

Notice in the photos how much the light is capable of bending in a plastic glass. Much greater curvature than the video you linked to portrays in the narration.

Do I know for a fact that this is what is happening? No. I haven't set the experiment up. But it stands to reason that the decreasing densities in air could be bending light in a similar fashion. I would sooner believe that is the explanation than the moon is a hologram and telescopes are mere illusion devices.

We don't live in glass but the air is much thicker down here then it is on top of a mountain. That we can observe. Not to mention the ocean is a major density change and also causes light to bounce back up towards the sky like a fiber optic. And so is this change in medium from the ocean to the shallow air the reason that light temporarily follows the curvature of the earth? There may be other explanations.

The FE explanation carries, on the other hand, many many flaws. No explanation for moon being full in America while, at the same time, crescent moon if standing in another country. No explanation for flights taking predictable times. How do people sail around Antarctica so quickly? Not one pilot has been able to fly in record time from places that are "near" on the flat earth model. Rockets blast into space showing equal distance to the horizon no matter where they blast off from. Its all so tiring.

There is simply a complex with flat earthers where they demand a need to remain smarter than everyone else and they demand a need to remain in a jail planet where nasa mysticism is employed to keep everyone in a trance.

The globe, heliocentric model makes the most sense based on the physical proof provided. The flat earth models all have fundamental flaws that are ignored or explained away as trickery from someone, who? Depends on which crackpot you're asking.

I don't need to explain flattard anecdotes that I can't verify. The sky write large shows how devoid of substance flattard claims are. Anybody on Earth can verify how the sun and stars behave.
