It's not about the ten shekels. It's about the chance that the robber had a gun or other weapon and he jumped into a position that left the clerk exposed to potential harm/death. You'd probably be calling him a soycuck pussybitch if he just let the robber steal from him unabated. Take your pick.

All the stabs looked high in the shoulder or the leg.
Only 1 in the back looked lung hieght so I bet he lived.

Plus the clerk wasn’t a nigger, so I’m sure he called for help right away, instead of staining at him for an hour then raping him or something.

Can’t say I’ve been in a knife fight to the death, but assuming I’d probably be heart pounding nervous/scared, I think my instinct would be to slash before stabbing. To keep distance and avoid initiating the clinch.
Rather then jump in to a clinch.

That's why you'd lose. Every knife fight expert I've read from or watched has shown more stabbing than slashing. Slashing is for a sword, knives are for stabbing.
