Annoying wife-habit no. 1,023.

Bird-brain makes coffee in a two-cup pot. I regularly come inside and there's a half a pot of cold coffee sitting on the table. She says she leaves it for me. I say that if I'm outside fighting bushfires or filling sandbags I won't know she's made a pot of coffee so she should make just half a pot for her. No change in behaviour so I now need to find a one cup coffee pot.

Yes - for speed. Got a Moka pot that we rarely use. The problem is Moka pots need the stove switched on and need to be monitored. I try and keep such dangerous activities limited to the bare minimum.

I know!! Sometimes I get busy and forget I left it on. Then it's a whole thing and then he says why dont I get the one that whistles when it's done. Ha! I don't know how many times I've had to tell him it's not a kettle.

A little tip. Assuming your stove has a timer on it (with a ring) ...switch it on for the time you expect it will take for the coffee to boil. If your stove doesn't have a ringing timer then you could buy an egg timer. And if, god forbid, you're like my wife who'll put a pot on the stove, turn the switch to High, take the scraps to the compost and do some gardening while she's at it...maybe an alarm wrist-watch?

Had a look at the stove ...just has markings. In a rare admission of hopelessness my missus once said she was disorganised. Must be a common female characteristic (no offense)?

Krups espresso economically does one cup at a time, pretty quick.
Can do up to ~ 3 cups.
I usually do a 12 oz cup in about 4 minutes.
Flea market find was about 10$
