Fuck sugar

submitted by Conspirologist to TellTalk 2.8 yearsAug 3, 2022 13:47:00 ago (+13/-1)     (TellTalk)

Corporations use excessive sugar in sweets. They do it deliberately to kill you as soon as possible. Exactly as tobacco corporations are killing you with cigarettes. I've quit sugar and after a while I started to feel sick when tasting sugar.

Good for you! That shit's terrible for you. Behaves like sandpaper in your joints and vascular system.

Remember all that hate eggs got years ago when cholesterol was blamed for forming arterial plaque? Turns out sugar is to blame.

Your vascular tissue has a slick coating on the inside, called the endothelial lining. Due to its abrasive nature, sugar degrades this lining, causing cholesterol to adhere and accumulate where it otherwise wouldn't.

Think of it like using metal utensils in a non-stick pan. Nothing really sticks to the surface well unless the surface has been damaged.

Funny how you don't miss it at all once you've stopped consuming it.

Do you use honey for anything or are you 100% sugar free?

[ - ] Fascinus 2 points 2.8 yearsAug 3, 2022 17:17:40 ago (+2/-0)

Pretty much 100% sugar free.

I try to keep daily carb intake under 24g net (minus dietary fiber) as a rule of thumb. It's not all that hard once I got used to it.

That being said, I don't sweat the occasional potato/tortilla chip if the kids are having some.

I too have quit eating carburetors.

Low carb diet for personal preference or as a medical solution for weight loss / diabetes reversal?

I took up the practice after learning about the pro-inflammatory effects of sugar on the metabolism. A really great book on the topic (and a whole lot more) is Deep Nutrition by Dr. Catherine Shanahan: https://drcate.com/deep-nutrition-why-your-genes-need-traditional-food/

It might sound boring and I found it to be a real page-turner. Good stuff :)

I gave up sugar 10+ years ago. I have never used artificial sweeteners.
It fundamentally changed my life.

Can’t make a pot of delicious baked beans without a heap of delicious brown sugar.

[ - ] Fascinus 7 points 2.8 yearsAug 3, 2022 13:59:56 ago (+7/-0)

You make a good point and molasses would contribute a lot of flavor without all of the sweetness.

Once I stopped consuming sugar, I began to find even small amounts to be too sweet for my taste.

It has nearly the same chemical reaction as cocaine. Fat people are just a different breed of junkie.

I sent my brother this thread so that the faggot can read this comment specifically. He is a sugar-nigger to the core.

Depending on your goals, sugar in any form...or carbs in general.

I quit as of 2 months ago. Definitely notice a difference. Also noticed people have horrible addictions towards this shit.

Ive barely eaten candy since high school. Simply didn't like the taste. Didn't even get to feeling bad because I never ate it.

[ - ] StarylDrawberry 6 points 2.8 yearsAug 3, 2022 14:32:11 ago (+6/-0)

7 hot pockets and a jar of sugar free sugar

[ - ] lord_nougat 4 points 2.8 yearsAug 3, 2022 14:37:14 ago (+4/-0)

For a truly balanced diet, you clearly need to add pickles.

[ - ] Fascinus 2 points 2.8 yearsAug 3, 2022 14:39:40 ago (+2/-0)

Maybe throw in a few tendies here and there to liven things up.

[ - ] NaturalSelectionistWorker 3 points 2.8 yearsAug 3, 2022 15:40:18 ago (+3/-0)

Make sure to slather everything in gravy.

[ - ] bobdole9 1 point 2.8 yearsAug 3, 2022 17:02:46 ago (+1/-0)

Laughing harder and longer than I should about pickles, hot pockets and sugar free sugar.

Here is my low added sugar diet:

Breakfast:
1 serving of fruit
Iced coffee with one serving of honey

Lunch:
One of three options -
1. Oatmeal with banana, frozen blueberries, organic peanutbutter (nothing added), cinammon.

2. Tiny potato, onion, pepper, fried egg on low calorie whole wheat English muffin.

3. Bowl of canned tunafish, onions, celery, tomato and olive oil.

Every lunch I also eat hummus with carrots or celery along with olives that I prepare myself.

Dinner:
Could be anything but I try to eat low saturated fats and no carbs for dinner. I have high cholesterol so I try to keep it to salmon/tofu/chicken with vegetables.

Desert:
Fruit or a small piece of dark chocolate.
