Boomers, what was the best cell phone brand?

I think Motorola. They have invented the flip phone and vibration. It was as fun as the communicator in Star Trek.

Agreed, Motorola.
I have used Moto G7's the past few years.
Inexpensive, durable, and they perform well.
Also, they are relatively easy to root. That's really the main reason. I like as much privacy as possible.

Keep in mind that Motorola is just a brand of Lenovo now

So is my (formerly IBM) ThinkPad.

And look what they have done to ThinkPads. My work won't even support thinkpads any more.

The original Moto X blew away all their current letter phones.

My first was a Bionic in 2011.
With the exception of a Galaxy S5, I've been a Moto user since then.

I had a Bionic. Loved that phone. Still have it in a box somewhere.

Nokia was the king before smart phones. longest battery life, tiny, perfect. I still use a 2610 as just an alarm clock / timer to this day.

Nokia had one of the first smartphones. Idk who actually invented it. There was a palmpilot with cellular capability, but I don't recall it being an actual phone.
