Is 3D printer the correct name?

submitted by Conspirologist to technology 2.8 yearsAug 1, 2022 07:55:04 ago (+2/-1)     (technology)

I think 3D printers should be named 4D. Since they print in all 4 dimensions.

I love this entire thread.

length, width, height. What am, I missing? Oh yeah 4 lost hours on a piece of Chinese plastic molded in my own home.

I want to make some ghost gum, not have a philosophical discussion.

Time is an abstract concept created by carbon-based life forms to monitor their ongoing decay.

Jewnstien said it was dimension/ part of the fabric of physical space.

I will accept 4D as the post office sees it: Height X Width X Length X Depth.

Two of those dimensions are the same thing
height/depth usually

[ - ] Cunt 0 points 2.8 yearsAug 1, 2022 17:29:07 ago (+0/-0)

Usually. Often times all 4 are the same.
Still got told off by a delivery company for only putting the 3 once (it was a normal rigid box).

All 4 are never the same.
You should tell that delivery company they are retarded.
You cannot have four dimensions on a box unless you are arbitrarily describing the same dimension twice.

Height or Length can be alternated with depth depending on frame of reference. Y axis or Z axis. (Where Y is vertical/height and Z is forward/back/length)

"All 4 are never the same."

What about a cube??

"You cannot have four dimensions on a box unless you are arbitrarily describing the same dimension twice."

A box no, but a soft package can.

A soft package still does not have 4 dimensions. Neither does a cube.

All of these examples still only have 3 dimensions. The pool has its height substituted for depth...

[ - ] Cunt 0 points 2.8 yearsAug 2, 2022 11:57:07 ago (+0/-0)

So the deep end and the shallow end are the exact same height or depth?

[ - ] throwawayaccount 0 points 2.8 yearsAug 2, 2022 12:41:57 ago (+1/-1)

Just because it is an irregular shape does not mean it has a 4th dimension. It means it has a greater depth at one spot than another. Following this logic, spheres would have only one dimension. Or infinite.

Woman moment.

Yes, but unfortunately the T-axis always homes to 'now' and only has a range between now and later.

[ - ] throwawayaccount 0 points 2.8 yearsAug 1, 2022 10:59:48 ago (+0/-0)

I still can't understand why they even put later on the T axis. It's probably the least used setting.

The whole thing is glitched anyway. I've tried switching mine to later but, the next time I look, it always reverts back to now.

Bro I thought that was just me. I spent like 45 hours once just troubleshooting it before I gave up.

Mine goes to eleven.

No. You can't print a hadrion collider yet
