I think this goes for men and women alike. Everything is so flip flopped right now that no one knows what to do. The culture they've pushed goes against our instincts: hook up with strangers forever, and if you do get married, both parents work, or get divorced, and kids raised by daycare from the time they're six weeks old, and we're all encouraged to move far away from family.
