i read a german article on the topic.

theres two related newshshows that do weather reports.

they used to get their information and animation from different sources.

nowadays, the two above shown different news shows get their animations and informations from the same source.

hence why nowadays, both shows use the same colour coding (shown in lower example) that one of the shows HAS BEEN USING FOR THIRTY YEARS...

so yes, something has changed, one of the shows uses more red now, but no, the use of red is nothing new.

its economical reasons, really

or at least thats what they say.

Edit: But Yes, weatherforecasts are clearly dramatic and fearmongering here in Germany, definitly weaponised by the jEw.

Growing up in germany, i remember seeing colord heat maps. But the color gradient seems to have shifted.
22C used to be a nice green, and only over 30C would it become red.
