I don't do fistbumps. Admittedly it starts off awkwardly.

But, I confidently hold my ground and everyone comes around 100% of the time and follows through with the handshake.

Often, with much excuberance. Men miss the handshake. Try it!

I sometimes will pretend it is the stick shift lever on a manual transission. I make engine revving sounds and everything. Really throws people off.

Older co-worker tried a fist bump with me and I looked him in the eye and said "handshakes like a good European man". He gave me a knowing smile and gave me a firm handshake.
