Oh my god. Haha this book is in my house.

My daughter bought it,let me go ask

Shes saying gen x and some millennials.

Hold on I fall in the millennial camp.

Ok asking her she's saying because of the culture they were raised in.

She just bought it because she saw posts about it and related to some of the stuff she had read.

What things could she relate to?

Hold on she's getting the book

I'll be back we're having a loud discussion.

Apparently I don't agree with her on everything and I argue instead of just dropping it. And I never gave her any privacy and I never say I'm sorry.

I spent forever playing that stupid game at the end of the Alice Cooper DVD when I was a teenager to see the secret message and that is what it said.

Go clean your room. Jordan Peterson isn't new he just stole Alice cooper's thing.

Oh I know ! Would you like to know the two biggest things what she said I didn't listen to her and then we got into an "argument"

When one time we were talking about the satanic panic and she said it wasn't real and the other " discussion" was about communism. And I was ( in my mind) patiently stating why I said she was stupid and then she pulled out the wait for it ...

Real communism has never been tried.

Oh you tell me what you would do?

Tell her she lives in a predominately white suburban neighborhood and has never experienced real suffering thanks to the love and care yoi showed her.

Then book her ticket to south east Asia in a 10 dollar a day hotel.

Haha you don't even know.

A few years ago I accidently made her live through a horrible natural disaster where she didn't have electricity or internet or running water for months .

And then she had the privilege of waiting in line with me for a helicopter to give us mres and water. More than once.

She said this 2 years ago. After all of that. I think my reacting angrily was more than justified.

Does she think the book is insightful?

Be prepared for your parents to get old. I wasn’t. My dad is fine, but my mother doesn’t seem to grasp the value of money anymore. Keeping her housed is as expensive as having 3 kids. It’s just one emergency after another, all revolving around her inability to handle her money. It started when she was about 70.

Yeah, hoarding. That’s my moms problem. She has a few offsite storage units where she puts shit that she buys cause it won’t fit in her house. It’s why she’s always broke.

I'd say boomers did a really bad job preparing gen X to be parents who in turn did an even worse job preparing millennials to be parents and we are now suffering the results of it.

Also there's the fact that Gen X is the one that began the skyrocketing of divorce and broken families.

Good for you, buddy. Do you want a cookie?
Go look up some stats on divorce rates. Gen X got divorced at significantly higher rates than boomers and the trend continued to rise from there. Your anecdotal evidence should be thrown in the trash.

Sounds like you are getting upset because I called out fault in your generation rather than blaming anything and everything on the boomers. B-b-but I'm gen X, I couldn't have done anything wrong!
