I use Amazon reviews to make my choice at Hamilton Books. Of course you can’t always trust Amazon reviews but it is what it is. A long time ago we chose our books by the books cover art, that’s all we had to go on.
I no longer use sites like that, but I'm sure if you search for "goodreads alternatives" you'll find something halfway decent. I doubt you'll find anything completely un-pozzed though.
normally when you look up alternatives to a site your only going to find shit really to a sub reddit or liberal websites suggesting other shithole liberal sites

Goodreads can suggest places to shop for certain books
but it's a place to get book suggestions also do some reviews
