Bacterial and fungal isolation from face masks under the COVID-19 pandemic - It's a petri dish in front of your face.

Study:
https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-022-15409-x

Summary below from:
https://www.coffeeandcovid.com/p/-coffee-and-covid-tuesday-july-19

The researchers surveyed 109 medical-school volunteers on their mask usage and lifestyles, and then cultured bacteria and fungi from the face-side and the outer-side of their masks. They found bacteria and fungi growing on the masks.

Bacterial colonies were found on 99% of the samples on the face-side, and 94% on the outer-side. The researchers found fungal colonies growing on 79% of the samples on the face-side, and 95% on the outer-side. They also found that longer mask usage significantly increased the fungal colony figures (but not the bacterial colony numbers).

Although most of the bacteria were non-pathogenic, they found several potentially pathogenic bugs: S. aureus (commensal bacterium; its overgrowth can cause various diseases); B. cereus (intestinal bacterium, causing food poisoning); Staphylococcus saprophyticus (urinary tract infection); and Pseudomonas luteola (an opportunistic pathogen).

The conclusion? The authors suggested “that immunocompromised people should avoid repeated use of masks to prevent microbial infection.”

and my ex boss is going to be asked one day why she didnt know this. because someone is eventually going to sue her. and im going to be dragged into that courtroom.

and im going to tell the absolute fucking truth.

we had absolutely no plausible deniability that inappropriate mask usage causes harm, because its what we taught, according to national guidelines, that never once changed. and if we have no deniability on the knowledge that they cause harm we are then practicing medicine without a license if regarded as 'for medical purposes', assault if its because i want them to wear them.

This would be why from day 1 everyone coming in to my room got told i cannot and will not enforce it, and explained to why as a group.

looking forward to that court case.

Ok but I suspect the Covid is worse than any face-mask bug.

So, somehow both is better? Or are you suggesting that the bacetrial/fungal colonies in your mask somehow fight viruses?

Also, how would one know if they have dacoof versus a chronic condition due to mask use when the tests are complete bullshit? Fuck right off with your covid nonsense. Get vaxxed again.

Good Evening, Borax. It's been a while since we exchanged pleasantries.

I can only relate my experience as a fervent mask-wearer for over two years and it would appear I have not caught any bug from mask wearing. Mind you I insert a tissue in my mask so as to form a barrier between my nostrils/mouth and the mask surface. And while I'll acknowledge mouths are very germy places I don't kiss anyone or their genitals and nor do I kiss pets. So...maybe that has something to do with it? PS I don't smoke or drink alcohol either. Pretty clean all' round, I guess.

Ah man, i almost pitied you for living in australia. But since you are a FERVENT mask wearer, then nope, fuck you and die.

Why shouldn't I be here? Please explain in under 100 words.

a PCR test can't tell the difference. therefore... pandemic.
