Daily Pushup Thread

submitted by SecretHitler to TellUpgoat 2.9 yearsJul 18, 2022 01:02:10 ago (+14/-0)     (TellUpgoat)

Looks like @GrayDragon wasnt on today so I'll make the thread. I like this idea so I hope it catches on. I'll post my count in the comments.

The idea for anyone who missed it is we're doing pushups every day. Doesn't matter if you can do 5 or 500. Most points will go to whoever improves the most over the next month or so.

Was actually just a little sore from the 50 I did yesterday so today I did 60.

Edit: 3 sets of 20

I managed 20 yesterday. Today only 15, but i did it twice.

I'd count that as 30 today. I'm doing mine in multiple sets.

Tried this a while back and went way to hard to soon. Ended up wrecking my shoulder.

Seen a guy online doing this with squats. Does 500 per day.
He’s some kind of physical therapist so he had some good info on how it’s better for your range of motion as you age, then it is for fitness alone.

Might that a try.

Squats are awesome! They also suck!

I used to be worried they weren't good for my knees but after doing them regularly my knees started feeling strong. Minor knee pains I had always had went away and never came back. Not fun while you're actually doing them though. Probably my most needed and most neglected exercise.

Never done high squats without weight.
How many do you do with no weight before you’re finding it that challenging?

I do them with weight too. Unless I'm just doing a couple sets of 10 with bodyweight or an empty bar as a warm up.

Ya these were all supposed to be without weight. Entirely about the range of motion, even in the arms in a way you could do with a bar or weight.
This is the guy. Nothing revolutionary but makes a decent case for it.

I do squats daily, not sure how many but it's a lot. I don't like chairs, so when I take a break at work I rest in a flat footed squat, ass to the grass. I also have <8% body fat, probably because I gave up 99% of all processed food stuffs. It doesn't matter how much you exercise if you're still consuming goy poison.

Don't measure yourself against others, measure yourself against who you were yesterday.

Comparison is the thief of joy.

Sounds like a good series of threads to have. Keep at it.

Every day? If I do that I overfatigue my muscles. I'll do some today but I'll likely have to wait a few days before doing more.

I don't know, but maybe you should do fewer every day, instead of balls-to-the-wall every few days.
