If you want to fight global warming you should probably ban ethonol gas which take 1.5 gallons of oil to manufature 1 gallon of ethonol which has less energy density. Then you are still going to burn that ethonol so you've now burned 2.5 gallons of CO2 producing fuel. You've also increased deforestation by requiring excess corn fields beyond what you would have needed otherwise.

Letting the environmentalists win would be devastating to the environment because they are too stupid to achieve their narrow goals even when they have the political power to make laws.
