I've considered this possibility as well. Of course my mind went to Sandy Hook many weeks ago, when the fuckery regarding Uvalde started to appear. I don't know. I try to be careful because I'm aware of my own predilection for jumping to conspiratorial conclusions (I don't use that word in a pejorative sense at all). I just become skeptical when I feel myself being trained, in my own thinking, to constantly shove things into the same bin. Anymore, it seems like I jump right to: "literally every fact presented about this event is a lie".

Maybe that's the case though. On the one hand, there is something so troubling about the idea of a nameless video editor working for some government agency 'sanitizing' the video of its audio featuring screaming children - something so procedural and sterile about it, and the way it was captioned. On the other hand, the better explanation might be that there were never any screaming children, and therefore the caption is really meant to convince people there was evidence (for the thing that didn't happen) on the original file.

I don't know. There is something off about the outcome of any situation like this where the shooter is taken in alive. You have to assume that any person in the state of mind to commit such a mass murder must also be of the mind that he is prepared to die. At the exact moment of the shooter's encounter with police, it is hard for me to imagine the shooter having a brief lapse of his psychotic deliberateness, to be suddenly rational for a moment and peacefully lower his weapon. No, I imagine the shooter would either put the gun in his own mouth, or also take out as many cops as he can.

These situations where a gunman is taken in alive are quite suspect, given that cops are not trained to take active shooters alive, nor are they trained NOT to match a threat who takes things lethal with an appropriate amount of force. You have a gun drawn and have demonstrated you're prepared to kill? The cops are going to grease you. So why aren't they dropping a motherfucker like this every time (assuming that it might have actually occurred as stated)? Exactly how do we get the shooter in cuffs? Are there examples of past events where gunmen on sprees of this kind just decide that they're done when the cops show up?
