Whether this hilarity is intentional or not, it does reveal something important: that they are gaslighting the world by doing things in the open, and then fervently denying their actions, with everyone in a position of authority or trust dogpiling in to back them up in their denials.
It thus has the effect of telling us that they don't care about being caught, that they have control over every institution, and that they are basically taunting us to do something about it all.
What can we do? ever try to convince someone that their relationship is abusive? or that they are in a cult? or that someone they trust is betraying them or plotting against them?
It's actually quite hard to convince something of something they don't want to believe, especially when a large part of their self-image is tied up in this belief, both abusers and cults are very good at integrating relationships and beliefs into the self-concept of their victims, there is an entire science to mind control of the masses through the manipulation of known elements of human psychology, it's known as behaviorism and has proven itself quite effective at understanding what makes people think and do things, and various powerful institutions have poured great resources into developing ways to make the majority of any population feel, believe, and act in the ways they want by applying the results of these studies.
Ultimately people decide what is true based on their instincts and associated emotions, which can most simply be broken down into two categories - their desires and fears, people then come up with justifications for the opinions they came up with for self-serving reasons.
Its self-serving for a white man to believe that his people are being given preferential treatment, and that black people are discriminated against, rather than the reverse, because he knows he stand to gain social acceptance by openly expressing such beliefs, and to lose it by so much as implying that the opposite is in fact the case.
The facts don't factor in until after the decision is made based on the way these things affect him personally, he will then filter everything through a bias that begins with his conclusion being correct by default, and the opposite being false on the same basis, all evidence must be assumed to fit with his positioning, any data that goes against it is false, anything that supports it true, if there's anything that confirms his chosen conclusion, he will register it and lock it in his mind, furthermore, it will be exaggerated by his mind to be more significant than it was, anything that goes against it will be easily forgotten, and if reminded of it it's significance will be downplayed.
it's only when continuing to hold to this belief becomes personally inconvenient that he changes his mind, he becomes a beat cop, and he has to personally experience the racial bias in the police force.
Black men are literally being allowed to get away with murder because the cops are afraid blacks will get more violent and destructive if their numbers make it look like black people have as many criminals as they do, because everyone will assume the popular mythology of our age that these numbers are the result of police unfairly "targeting" black men, with nothing but the appeal to the popular assumption of black men being "profiled" and "harassed" by cops to back it up.
As I said, it's all about personal incentives, people use their assumptions and intuitions as the basis for their framework of how reality is, humans make decisions based on what is useful to them in the environment they currently inhabit, in this case it's their surrounding culture making heroes of those who make the correct assumptions, and pariahs of those whose intuitions aren't conforming to the expectations of those around them.
The man who joined the force then sees the other half of the racial bias in policing, not only do police do what they can to avoid confronting black criminals, but they actively try to further correct the numbers by actively targeting, harassing, and profiling whites, and making a big show of it too, they will go out of their way top arrest white men just to get tem on the books, despite having ample access to the evidence that they are innocent of the crimes for which they are being arrested, flimsy evidence like creatively interpreted statements under interrogations are used to put them behind bars. Because whites will never riot over an unfair arrest of someone from their own race, and the more whites they have arrested, the less racist they look.
The cops will remove themselves from where the criminals are, and place themselves where the criminals are not, so as to avoid catching criminals of the wrong color, who will cause trouble if they get too many of them, and to start catching non-criminals of the right color, who will help their numbers look the way people assume they should thus preventing trouble, at least were it comes to arrests.
We want black and white people to have an equal chance of being criminals, that the only "truth" our society will tolerate, the facts are they are not anywhere close to being of an equal likelihood when it comes to crime, that's the actual truth of our reality.
If the arrests reflect the actual reality, which most people know of, but none will openly acknowledge, then people will need to make up a secondary false "truth" to protect the first assumption, an extension of the lie which doesn't stretch plausibility - in this case, that the police are discriminating against black people and most of these arrests are the result of that discrimination.
Keep in mind that the responsible thing to do with hypothesis like the primary guess that blacks and whites commit crimes in equal measure, or the secondary hypothesis that the disproportionate arrest rate is due to discrimination, is to check them against one's deeper observations, to investigate, which means trying to prove your assumptions wrong, the fact that they simply pile lies upon one another is another sign that they have no interest in the truth, someone might say they only care about their dogma, but the sadder reality is that they care only about themselves.
When a lie is refuted by reality, people don't go with reality, they make another lie to explain away the refutation, and this is usually where "harmless" false beliefs begin to turn sinister, the initial belief might be based on hopes or dreams, and have little bearing on their behaviors, but the second lie they make to explain away the evidence contradicting the first lie is usually something that involves some sort of enemy among humanity who is somehow responsible for the discrepancy.
It's one thing to think your friend didn't commit a murder, but when evidence comes in that incriminates him, your next delusion that preserves the first is likely that someone else must be responsible for the crime, and that they are the true explanation for the evidence.
If the black best friend of yours who was stalking a white woman who used to be his coworker has evidence linking him to her rape and murder, then you need to invent someone who is out to get this guy for her rape and murder, how about racist cops? how about a white coworker who you don't give a fuck about?
so everyone will decide to pretend that these numbers are the result of the secondary explanation, that the evidence against their preferred idealistic reality is the result of evil racist cops, and then they will target those cops, and white people in general, to rectify the imagined conspiracy to make their preferred reality look like it isn't true (which is preferable to them over the troubling concept that crimes are nowhere near evenly distributed among racial groups).
This results in cops being pressured to let blacks get away with crimes, and to get more whites, even to the point where cops start attacking whites, and being harder on them precisely to get an excuse to gun them down, better one man dies than a whole city burns, a sacrifice on the path to racial peace. The assumption of equality directly leads to innocent people being sacrificed in cold blood.
This brings up another point, that despite all the abstractions we live in, despite all the titles, laws, and systems we have, the cold hard truth of the world is that violence remains the foundation of all civilization, all of this is motivated by people wanting to avoid violence, even if it means they have to cause violence to occur, and that being caused by people who are so committed to a positive view of the world as more idealistic than it is being willing to threaten violence in order to force people to maintain the illusion.
A lot of the worst things in this world comes down to people having this positive assumption of the world that eventually turns them towards violence so that they can continue living as if their false view of the world was true.
On top of that, the rest of the people are going to go along with the crazy people because they can act as a group to pressure these guys into it. These people are also motivated by personal threats, social isolation and disapproval is a serious thing, it impacts survival and more importantly, chance of reproduction.
The human brain is programmed to seek out reproduction with quality partners, that the prime mover in the design of the human psychology, survival is a means to this end, so anything that denies you quality poon is going to have an intense emotional effect on you that is enough to compel you to accept bullshit solely on the need to fit in, I suspect that this is the foundation to the influence of political correctness, women want moral men to reproduce with, so men must at the very least feign that they possess the same moral perspectives as women do.
