Though in fairness it is not just here. Voat culture has long had a strong asshole current going back to the other place. People will conclude it's the internet. Gives you license to act like a jackass with no consequences. Or act as if to point this out is 'crying'. But there is nothing offbase about expecting you to be more polite than niggers. And frankly a lot of you aren't. Indeed, you're fuckin' worse.

And if you're paid to be here and be a turd - get another job!

Nope. This was prompted by some flame war I ran across earlier. Though it just brought to mind thoughts I've vaguely had at various times. It kinda looks like an online version of a homeless camp. I've seen a fair number of those lately. Except the schizo druggies there are somewhat better behaved I think if louder.

Voat has long been a surreal environment. It has tried my sanity in the past. Can be difficult to tell if people can read through the lines through all the nonsense. Then there is the deliberate sabotage amplifying the nonsense. The end result seems to be what we see here: a flame fest with not a lot of users. To the US government's tastes if nothing else. One can be assured of that.

The site is small for a reason. First: Poal ate a lot of the remaining Voat userbase (those faggots should have been filtered out by the Voat immune system far sooner) Then: System turned his summer hobby project into a hugbox. Early administrator ethics testing performed by SBBH clearly demonstrated to everyone on the site that system was not a worthy admin. A lot of people left after they realized that. Everyone who's still here is just a retard who is just barely not retarded enough to go to Poal. (I'm not here, just visiting for a few hours, and I might be back in a couple months.)

In summary, this place is dead because the admin is retarded. Not because people are mean to each other.

This place doesn't seem incredibly slower than when I joined last year.

But why be an asshole? Aren't you a Christian? I know backgrounds differ but in my upbringing the golden rule was emphasized a lot. I'm not perfect but it gives me a real aversion to deliberately setting out to be an asshole in interpersonal communication.
