The 9th generation of gaming sucks.

It's too expensive, it's anti consumer, etc. I could go on and on that major corporations hate us. They nickel and dime us with loot boxes, microtransactions, dlc, online only games, always online games, drm, multiplayer, mp only games, and the censorship and woke politics, the companies won't try new ideas it's all sequels, remakes, remasters etc. Am i missing anything?

at least with PC you can emulate older console games.

i was given a ps4 recently (as for a couple of months ago or so) and i seldom play any games on it. its collecting dust.

now my PC gets all my attention because i can game in high def 1080p but at 120 hz which is very nice and i cant do that on console.

i have wanted to upgrade my 1660 ti but i dont see a reason why because it can still play games at 1080p just fine while i let my 4k tevee to upscale the graphics for me.

i hardly miss any older consoles anyway since with steam,epic,gog and even amazon you can get free games every month. and it case of all 3 you can get deals all season long and the best of it is that most games now have controller support.

yes there are games that are more pozzed than others and sadly as time passes by we are going to see more and more of this.

i think i'm on my lasts legs with this hobby because of arthritis is setting in. so yeah i will adapt just like i did with dumping cable and most of hollywood.

I recall PacMan and Frogger.

Then there was Civilizations and Master of Orion.

Now I think there's something called "Call of Duty."

Take it as a silver lining. The less interesting games become the less time and money young white men waste with them, freeing up time and having resources to do useful things like making big white families and shitposting about jews online. Just think about how many individuals have been awakened to the rot of our modern reality thanks to (((them))) infiltrating the gaming space. In a way, we should thank them for this.

However, if you're still interested in playing games during your down time, there is always retro gaming via emulation so just play whatever the hell you remember was good. For modern titles, pretty much all of the AAA industry is a write-off due to all the reasons you listed. Independent studios and lower budget games usually tend to be more likely to be pozz-free and generally more interesting. A few of the upcoming 2022 titles I'm interested in are Stray, Metal: Hellsinger, A Plague Tale: Requiem and Atomic Heart.

Every single one of the things he mentioned, apply to PC just as much as consoles. And PCs are even more expensive than consoles. (for the hardware)

For me the worst parts are the woke politics, and boring uninspiring games. Every game that comes out feels like a quick cash grab with shiny graphics, but lame gameplay and tons of agenda pushing. If not that, then it is some chore-like crafting game that you have to have all of the autisms to be able to enjoy.

PC gives you access to a far wider variety of games than consoles and also let's you play older titles that you claim are the ones worth playing. You also are buying into an upgradable platform that is multifunctional.

I think he means that most games no days for you to be connected to the internet to even run the game, even if their is single player mode.

No he mentioned that originally. He's talking about buying a digital game and when the company no longer supports the console, if the console fucks up, you no longer have the game. All the digital games for the Wii as example, are no longer available if your Wii bricks.

That is the biggest shit of all. I can't sell My game, I can't loan or trade My game to my friends. If I forget my profiles email address or password, all My games could be lost forever.
Because it isn't Mine. We used to laugh at the legal stipulation that the original Xbox could be reclaimed by Microsoft at their discretion. We nicknamed it Bill's Box. Well it's not fuckin' funny anymore. I quit gaming about 2 years ago because of all the bullshit, but I do miss the good times hangin' with the boys

I fully agree. I do my damnedest to avoid buying digital games on consoles, and I won't buy online only games. I bought Back 4 Blood and saw it was online only, and I returned it immediately because I hadn't opened it. You have to pay close attention now to not get fucked with shit like that. Though Outriders looked fun, I didn't get it either for the always only bullshit.


Best route for gaming now is board games or GoG for drm free games. At least you can burn those to a disc and save them.

I prefer the gun range to faggy games...I'd rather experiment with unorthodox powder charges for my bench shooting rifles instead of staring at a fake cgi...and...I'd rather feel the violent concussion of my .50 cal Steyer loaded with 233grns of BMG50 as it pushes out a 780 grn titanium composite projectile.
