3 & 5 are the only watchable ones on your list. He's been in better movies IMO.

I was a big fan of solider, in particular the shoe / snake scene.

Stargate.

For many years the Thing was my comfort movie. It was like grilled cheese and tomato soup. Anytime I felt bad, I'd pop in the Thing and that opening music and the dog fleeing across the snowfield and I felt better.

I don't know what's in there, but whatever it is is weird and pissed off.

Well Stargate was sort of mine. I don’t really know how anyone could be soothed by The Thing because it scared the hell out of me, but to each his own. Kurt has a folksy, unassuming appeal.

I've loved horror movies since I was a kid, 5 yrs old. Actually, I just liked stories, but scary ones were sort of best. So, I liked the Thing because it got a Lot of stuff just right. Mostly the paranoia. But the most important part was that they told the story just right.
...that's it.they were supposed to scare me. That's why I was there. I wanted a story that glued me to my seat.

The Thing and it's absolute weird paranoia and completely fucked FX, did the job.

The same as Watership Down did that thing.

It's the story and how well, how real the events and characters are.

Well I do think The Thing is a really well done horror movie. I just need something more soothing as my comfort flick. There are just some movies that are watchable over and over . Some movies I like but I never want to see again.

Soldier is better than Stargate.

Crap, I completely forgot he was in that. Might do a followup next week.

How do you leave Escape from New York off this list?

[ - ] Broc_Liath [op] 1 point 2.8 yearsJul 9, 2022 21:24:37 ago (+1/-0)

Too many good options. I just picked the top ones off a list.

Tango and Cash, as well.

You should check it out it's a good one and you'll enjoy it, I'm sure. Well, it's one of my favorites anyway. The list you have is great the way it is though.

I'll definitely do more next week. We watched The Thing, Captain Ron and Executive Decision.

Next week probably:

Escape from new york

Soldier

Big Trouble in Little China

Stargate

and might as well throw in your cop movie too.
