I was gonna say, I can see this torpedoing the deal, but it won't torpedo Twitter. People accept that there are bots on the Internet. There's nowhere of any size you can go without them.
If you think the SEC is going to do anything more than the barest token fine/punishment in order to make it look like they're actually doing something, you're deluding yourself.
If I had to guess, I would say that Twitter itself is breaking and operating bot accounts in an effort to get more people to use the site and make follower numbers higher. I dont think that same motivation exists on this site and not accounts here would be third party to create consensus

I imagine the way this works it that every social media company inflates their user numbers to rip of corporate advertisers. And the reason no corporate advertiser has or will ever sue these tech platforms for it, is because they’ve always known this. And the trade off is that both parties know the tech platforms will gradually faze out and censor the public for corporate content. Just try youtube searching “aliens” and watch as the results are at least 90% MSM articles and media.
Musk is probably under NDA for anything he got via the "firehose". I doubt that applies to the court if Twitter goes ahead with its lawsuit but he's not going to be able to make it public without more legal hazard.
