The reason everybody had to listen to Kissinger was that very early on after college Kissinger established a network of Jews all around the world that put themselves in powerful places so he was one of the few people at the time who had direct connections with lots of nations with people who could actually make things happen.
In other words he established the first modern conspiracy of Jews to control the world. And in effect they did. And Nixon had to go to him to get anything done.
Was America really even that divided during Vietnam? It was a few years before my time, but looking back on things I've heard and read, it felt like most of the division was coming from hippies and college students protesting the war.
