They are saying the shutdown is due to "high gas prices". In reality they aren't getting enough crude to refine. At the current rate of consumption we can expect gas to run out in October.

It was built in 1918. It would be cheaper to build new than to refurb this old piece of shit which keeps breaking down due to major equipment failures. One more major equipment failure, and it's not reopening.

This is a GOOD thing, because we can have predicatbility of supply rather than a sudden shortage due to a cracking tower breaking down unexpectedly.
