I'm reading The Double Helix by James Watson. I came across this passing/tangential, diary-like description of a conversation with an Austrian logician in ~1951:
Kreisel held forth on a way to make a financial killing by shifting money between the politically divided parts of Europe.
My kike-sense started tingling so I looked him up. Sure enough:
Georg Kreisel FRS (September 15, 1923 – March 1, 2015) was an Austrian-born mathematical logician who studied and worked in the United Kingdom and America. Kreisel was born in Graz and came from a Jewish background;
