Wasps, no matter how vile they are, they do serve a purpose. They keep birds fed. They keep the pest population down or balanced, in a bug détente. They perform the same function as bees but not as well. I’ll shoo a bee away but I won’t hesitate to smash a wasp. Their sting really hurts! Bees don’t sting if they don’t have too. Wasps sting because they can.

I was riding my bike, a bee hit my sunglasses, fell on my arm and stung me. Died immediately, it was scared shitless.

Didn’t hurt except initially. Just slightly itchy following that.
